In dry eye caused by a lack of the tear film’s oil layer, the main cause is reduced function of the oil glands in the eyelids (meibomian glands). OLIM Clinic’s dry eye program consists of treatments that care for these glands.
Pulsed light is applied to the skin around the cheekbones and temples to support meibomian gland function. Treatment takes about 10 minutes.
Applies heat to the inner eyelid and gentle pressure to the outer eyelid to release hardened oil. Both eyes are treated together for 12 minutes.
